ASI Marine Ecosystem Modeling – Approaches and Challenges

This course is focused on the theory and techniques of mathematical model development for marine ecosystems. The course is designed to provide understanding of how to parameterize marine ecosystem processes, represent biogeochemical cycling and interactions among components of marine food webs, and represent interactions and coupling among biogeochemical cycling, food web components, and the physical environment. The course provides an overview of implementation of marine ecosystem models and includes coordinated sessions that provide practical application of topics covered in lectures.
