ASI Introduction to hydrodynamic models and statistical tools for modeling validation

This course will give an overview of the oceanic model. It will introduce students to the geophysical fluid physics and dynamics and the main parameterization used in ocean modeling. We will present the discretization needed for numerical modeling and detail the numerical aspects and issues linked to this discretization. Then, the ocean model ROMS/CROCO will be presented. At least we will briefly discuss the parallel computing aspects.
