Marcelo Gutiérrez is a marine biologist, MSc in Sciences and received his PhD in Oceanography from the University of Concepción. His areas of interest are microbial oceanography, organic geochemistry and microbial ecology. He is an assistant professor at the Department of Oceanography and a Researcher at COPAS Sur-Austral, University of Concepción.
