El Dr. José Luis Iriarte es investigador de la línea 2 Variabilidad ambiental y patrones ecosistémicos asociados con aportes de agua dulce en los fiordos Patagónicos de COPAS Sur-Austral. Actualmente, es profesor titular en el Instituto de Acuicultura de la Universidad Austral de Chile, Puerto Montt, donde es el director de la Escuela de Graduados de Puerto Montt.
