Michael Dinniman

Mr. Michael S. Dinniman is a Research Scientist at the Center for Coastal Physical Oceanography in the Department of Ocean, Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at Old Dominion University.

Primarily using numerical modeling, Mr. Dinniman studies ocean and ice physical processes in oceanic and coastal regions, including a current emphasis on the interactions between the floating portions of the Antarctic Ice Sheet and the nearby ocean (see the recent review article in Oceanography magazine). He is also interested in the coupling between physical and biological processes in marine environments. Mr. Dinniman has been using the Regional Ocean Modeling System (ROMS) to study these questions for approximately 15 years.
